Cooling duct for the Magura MT7 Pro brake

A study of a duct inspired by motorsport air channels, designed to direct cool air towards the brake disc and caliper during track use.

The project

On track, brakes work hard and build up heat. The idea is to fit a plate near the caliper, with cut-outs that guide air towards the disc and caliper.

The concept is inspired by air ducts used in motorsport. The part is designed to use the caliper fasteners, taking into account the clearance beneath the bolt heads.

The prototype will be 3D-printed and then evaluated while riding. The results will be published here, whether successful or not.

Changes and features

  • Plate mounted at the caliper, beneath the bolt heads
  • Cut-outs directing air towards the disc and caliper
  • Prototype planned for 3D printing
